Sunday, May 24, SOLIDARITY PROTEST/DEMONSTRATION, LOMPOC Federal Prison
Meeting Time:12:00 noon, Walmart Parking Lot, Central starting at noon
At Walmart you will be given a map that shows the route from Walmart, to the prison and then to Ryon Park. At Ryon Park there is a parking lot and there is also plenty of street parking. Bring your signs for The Prison Protest and Ryon Park.
WE WILL BE PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING, SO PLEASE PLAN ON WEARING A MASK. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL BE PART OF THE DEMONSTRATION WHO ARE MEDICALLY COMPROMISED AND/OR OVER 60. LET’S SET THE RIGHT EXAMPLE AND KEEP EVERYONE SAFE.
    FOR THE PROTEST/DEMONSTRATION:
There will be two GROUPS: GROUP A – People who stand on the side of the Road across from the Prison with SIGNS/DOING CHANTS, etc. GROUP B – the Caravan.
Those who are part of the GROUP A (Standing on the side of the road) will stand on the side of the road in front of the prison.  This group will leave Walmart first, park on Floradale (it’s plenty wide for street parking) and then walk up to the prison….it’s a short walk. You must stand on the opposite side of the road from the prison. Again, Signs would be great.
    GROUP B, CARAVAN
Those in the Caravan, will leave Walmart about 15 minutes later. We will drive by the prison very slowly, honking, while some of us will have chosen to be standing out in front of the prison with signs. The caravan will keep going and head back to Lompoc (or home) via Route 1.
    NEXT STEP AFTER PROTEST/DEMONSTRATION:
At 2:30 we will gather at Ryon Park for a Rally and a news conference.
